After some of my marathons, I have taken the resting advice to heart - no running, limited walking, lots of food and fluids. However, what happens when you have no reason but just can't seem to get off the couch?
Although I often let Sunday be a potential rest day when I am not in training, I sometimes find it is too easy to make it always be a de facto rest day.
What do you do to stay motivated when you don't want to work out?

I do.
Perhaps the biggest lesson I have learned over the years is to be okay with not running. Yes - although it may sound like a misnomer (shouldn't I be encouraging myself to run?!!?), giving yourself credit for a needed day off is just as important as patting yourself on the back for a run well run.
And not just after a marathon.
